This dance is a meditation on deep rage as a necessary compass in building practices of resistance to empire and visions of the world to come. Sourcing this rage in both the ancestral memory of my matriarchs and the present heartbreak of our collective conscience through unfolding genocide in Palestine / crises of violence across the world, this dance explores rage as a practice for moving in alignment with life-affirming futures. This exploration is intertwined with this year’s spirit of the Dragon, Dragon being my zodiac sign, and a water deity of rivers, rains, and storms; of transformation, power and compassion.

Emerging from the portal opened by Crazy American, this new work is curious about deepening into the cracks of craziness, tapping into the pulse of the mythological, the creaturely, the tricksterly, and the ancestral in a continued reaching for embodiment beyond the histories of assimilation, silencing, and whiteness in my lineage, situating itself as one fractal of the collective work required for a more liberated future.
