A re~turn; after the rush of the storm, between flood and rebirth, we come back to earth. Make a flame from the debris, find a heartbeat again. The darkness stares back, unblinking. What does it take to see and be seen again? After the rush, an infinite slowness, hypnosis, where all masks shed as peeling skin. Flickering, ephemeral, we withdraw into ourselves. Come back to earth. Find a heartbeat again. We re~turn.

This performance ritual tends the Chinese zodiac’s transition from Wood Dragon to Wood Snake, unraveling the resonances between 巳 and Coatl, between my ancestral Chinese cosmology and YolkwalliCass’ ancestral Tlaneltoka/Anahuacan cosmology.
